“Hello, I’m Bill.

On my return to the UK after falling very ill overseas, I realized that I needed support to fight, beat and recover from my addiction to alcohol misuse.
During the third week of July this year, on recommendation, I contacted Better Way for their help.

Even after my first group meeting it became very clear to me that their wonderful, friendly and caring approach is really what I was looking for. The tremendous support, care and most importantly their understanding, of not only my situation, but that of others, helped me through some very testing times. Everyone at Better Way, staff and volunteers, has my interest and wellbeing at heart and are always there for me. So too, do other members at meetings, we all feed off each other. Again everyone has patience, listens and understands. All advice comes from their own past, personal life experiences.

For me Better Way offers warmth and security and a place to discuss any personal concerns I may have.

I have only started my journey to recovery, a journey I know that will never end but the road forward has been well paved and made more smooth. I cannot express too deeply my gratitude to everyone at Better Way… Although I know there will be more anxious and trying times ahead I am getting my life back on track, something I would never have believed only four months ago. I can actually look forward to the future, a future without alcohol.

There is no better way than Better Way. Thank you so much from me and my family.”
