CHANGE IS POSSIBLE

A Safe Place To Go
This is the most important part of Better Way Recovery. Being around like minded people in a friendly safe environment is vital to recovery seekers. Our centre in Lichfield is open 6 days a week. The staff and volunteers welcome everyone through the doors with love, empathy and compassion. Everyone who comes to Better Way wants to be there. That is our only requirement. Every recovery seeker who comes to our centre will be made to feel part of it. Everyone is equal at Better Way Recovery! For our office open hours please visit our “Contact Us” page for times here.

Phone Support
Phone support during office hours (Please see our Contact Us page here for office opening times.) . We understand that recovery seekers can find it difficult once they have left Better Way and on the weekends. A chat with a like minded person can make all the difference to that persons day.

Peer Led Support
We are not Councillors or Therapists but we are experts by experience. We have lived life in addiction and are now living life in recovery. We understand the ups and downs of recovery. There is no better tool for the recovering addict or alcoholic than another addict or alcoholic. Our staff and volunteers lead by example. We don’t tell recovery seekers what to do, we show them what we do. Our goal is to help every recovery seekers get to where they want to be through our person centred approach.

Solution Focused Groups
We deliver 2 support groups per weekday in Lichfield. The morning check in group is 11.00am – 12.00pm Monday to Saturday. Here recovery seekers get the chance to talk about whats going on for them and the group supports the group. The afternoon group is a topic group, always looking at the problem, solution and the action. This is 13.30pm – 15.00pm Monday to Friday.
Our Tamworth groups are 11.00am – 14.00pm Tuesdays and Fridays, with two groups on Wednesdays; 11.00am – 12.00pm and 13.00pm – 14.00pm and Thursday evenings 5.00pm – 8.00pm.
All of our groups are facilitated by staff and volunteers with lived experience.

A Holistic Person Centred Approach
We help recovery seekers get to where they want to get to. They are in charge of their recovery. Everyone who comes to Betterways come from all different walks of life. We help support people into the Burton Addiction Centre and into the local fellowship meetings. We also offer lifts to their first Better Way meeting to help recovery seekers push through their fears.

Multi-Agency Support
Working with all the local key agencies is an important part of our service. Recovery seekers need support in a variety of areas, including housing, addiction, mental health, family, financial problems and many more. Better Way Recovery works closely with all relevant agencies to help provide the best wraparound support possible for every recovery seeker.

Outreach Work
We visit recovery seekers in their own home. We understand some people struggle leaving their house due to their mental health and addiction. This may be the only way that person can get our message at that time. We also do joint visits with other agencies.

Family Support
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 19.00pm to 20.30pm we hold a Family Support Group at our centre in Lichfield. This is crucial for the families. The ripple affect of addiction can rip through families and friends. This group is all about the families and is facilitated by Linda Easto a family member. Visit our “Family Support” page here for more details.

Preventative & Awareness Talks
We deliver awareness talks in local schools and community groups. Our talks are from real life experiences, talking about the realities of addiction and everything associated with that life.

Volunteer Training & Opportunities
Our amazing volunteer team are the heart beat of Better Way Recovery. We give them training in all different areas of our service and their own experience of addiction is invaluable! For more information about becoming a volunteer please visit our “Volunteering” page here.
